The playoffs are underway in the Premier Lacrosse League and on Sunday afternoon, the Archers and Waterdogs will square off in the Cash App Championship at Subaru Park in Philadelphia. The PLL is an American professional lacrosse league made up of eight teams. The league's inaugural season debuted on June 1, 2019, and included a 14-week tour-based schedule taking place in 12 cities. The league was founded by the American professional lacrosse player Paul Rabil and his brother Mike Rabil. The league gives college graduates the opportunity to continue their lacrosse careers after graduation while spreading popularity for the sport across the country.

The Waterdogs come into Sunday's championship game with a record of 7-3 this season. In the semifinals, the team played to a big 17-6 victory over the Cannons. Michael Sowers led the offensive efforts in the win scoring three goals and supported his teammates by providing three assists. Dillon Ward played the whole game in net for the Waterdogs and made 13 saves. 

The Archers have been at the top of the standings for most of the season and will look to carry that momentum into Sunday's game. The team comes into the final with a record of 8-2 and earned one of the championship spots by beating the Redwoods 14-6 last weekend. Grant Ament was the Archers' leader on offense with three goals and four assists. Brett Dobson played a strong game in net, as well, making 18 saves to earn the win.
